Television Personalities is an English rock grohigher with the variable line up. A merely human most common to all the line ups is singer/songwriter Dan Treacy. One of a original punk groups, their first release was a EP ''Where's Bill Grundy Now? inside 1978, which featured one of their best known songs A share Instance Punks. Their number 1 album And Don't The Kids Just Love It was released in 1981. It placed a template for their subsequent career: neo-psychedelia, an obsession with youth culture of the 1960s, a fey, slightly camp lyrical attitude, and a occasional classic pop song. Their 2nd album Mummy Your systems Non Watching Us demonstrated increased psychedelic influences. Their third album, ironically entitled It Stand Been Large Than A Beatles'' showed Treacy's feel of irony: a TVPs (when it is dearly known) were never to own any major commercial success. Various line higher changes prevented their next album (Privilege) from either appearing until 1990. Their next album Nigher to God was perceptibly darker than former act & tracks like The Super Foremost Nervous Breakdown hinted at antecedently unsuspected mental problems. Their latest (so far, go) album ''Don't Cry Binky user, It's Single The Moving-picture show'' was freed inside 1998. Since so Treacy has battled mental health problems, and (these are rumoured) drug problems. He has been homeless on various occassions was briefly arrested and imprisoned in 2003/2004. possibly so, since his release, Treacy has attempted for his life back together & there exists even talk about the newly TVPs album. Despite their little sales a TVPs were super influential in British music in a Eighties, especially the and so-supposed C86 generatiin and numbers of of the elastic on Creation Records. Morrissey and Kurt Cobain amongst others were fans.
